Too Busy for a Friend?

2020 Class Will Always Be Know For The 2020 Vision They Have Before Them

Too Busy for a Friend?
Unknown Author Not today

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as The students left the room, each one handed in the papers. That
Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.

On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. ‘Really?’ she heard whispered. ‘I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!’ and, ‘I didn’t know others liked me so much,’ were most of the comments.

No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn’t matter.. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.

Several years later, one of the students was killed in Vietnam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature..

The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the
coffin.

As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. ‘Were you Mark’s math teacher?’ he asked. She nodded: ‘yes.’ Then he said: Mark talked about you a lot.’

After the funeral, most of Mark’s former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark’s mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.

‘We want to show you something,’ his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket ‘They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it.’ Continue reading Too Busy for a Friend?

“What’s for dinner, Zorro?”

“What’s for dinner, Zorro?”
Mary Mary

Today I had lunch with 2 of my unmarried friends. One is engaged, one is a mistress, and I have
been married for 20+ years. We were chatting about our relationships and came up with the idea to amaze our men by greeting them at the door wearing a black bra, stiletto heels and a mask over our eyes and little if anything else.

We all agreed to meet in a few days afterward to exchange notes, and Here’s how it all went.

My engaged friend: The other night when my boyfriend came over he found me with a black leather bodice, tall stilettos and a mask. He saw me and said, ‘You are the woman of my dreams. I love you.’ Then we made passionate love all night long.

The mistress: Me too! The other night I met my lover at his office and I was wearing a raincoat, under it only the black bra, heels and Mask over my eyes. When I opened the raincoat he didn’t say a word, but he started to tremble and we had wild sex all night.

Then I share my not so lucky story: When my husband came home I was wearing the black bra, Black stockings, stilettos and a mask over my eyes. When he came in the door and saw me he said, “What’s for dinner, Zorro?” I file for divorce the next day for Emotional & Mental Abuse

Ex-Wife & Ex-Husband

unnamedEx-Wife & Ex-Husband

Dear Wife:

I’m writing you this letter to tell you that I’m leaving you for good. I’ve been a good man to you for seven years and I have nothing to show
for it. These last two weeks have been hell. Your boss called to tell me that you had quit your job today and that was the last straw. Last week, you came home and didn’t even notice that I had gotten a new haircut, cooked your favorite meal and even wore a brand new pair of silk boxers. You came home and ate in two minutes, and went straight to sleep after watching all of your soaps. You don’t tell me you love me anymore, you don’t want sex anymore or anything. Either you are cheating or don’t love me anymore. Whatever the case is, I’m gone.

Your Ex-Husband

P.S. Don’t try to find me. Your SISTER and I are moving away to West Virginia together! Have a great life!

Dear Ex-Husband:

Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It’s true that You and I have been married for seven years, although a good man is a
far cry from what you’ve been. I watch my soaps so much because they drown out your constant whining and griping. Too bad that doesn’t work.
I did notice when you got a hair cut last week. The first thing that came to mind was “You look just like a girl!” but my mother raised me not to say anything if you can’t say anything nice. And when you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with MY SISTER, because I stopped eating pork seven years ago. I turned away from you when you had those new silk boxers on because the price tag was still on them. I prayed that it was a coincidence that my sister had just borrowed fifty dollars from me that morning … and your silk boxers were $49.99. After all of this, I still loved you and felt that we could work it out. So when I discovered that I had hit the lotto for ten million dollars, I quit my job and bought us two tickets to Jamaica. But when I got home you were gone. Everything happens for a reason, I guess. I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted. My lawyer said that with the letter you wrote, you won’t get a dime from me. So take care.
Signed

Rich as Hell and Free!

P.S. I don’t know if I ever told you this but Carla, my sister, was born Carl. I hope that’s not a problem!

How wonderful it is

Young beautiful woman jumping with a scarfHow wonderful it is to realize that we have a great gift: choice. the next time you are in the market, notice the many choices you have. You like cheese? Well, there is gouda, cheddar (sharp or mild), goat cheese, mozzarella; the list goes on.

What are we choosing in the marketplace of our thoughts? Are we choosing doubt? Fear? What are we picking from the shelves of consciousness and putting into the baskets of our lives? We must make sure to put Joy on the shopping lists of our thoughts. Joy is a High Vibration that attracts more Joy. Life can be easy; however, we must choose to see it that way.

Set the intention to enjoy this day no matter what. If something goes amiss at work, remember Joy. If the job interview turns sour, remember Joy. If someone cuts you off on the road, remember Joy.

When we are in Joy, we Create an atmosphere that says we are ready for greater things to happen. The items we have on our shopping lists of Life begin to show up. Work becomes a pleasure, or we move on to greater things. the interviews that seemed to go sour actually turn out to be sweet experiences. the people who cut us off on he road are blessed because the Joy we feel in our lives touches them.

Today, and everyday, choose to be in Joy. Enjoy the day because It is Good.-  E.VirGinia Johnson “Genii”

Facts about the 1500s

1500 pic 2Clever History Lesson for People who can Appreciate it! The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn’t just how you like it, think about how things used to be.

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May, and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odour.

Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married. Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies.

By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying; “Don’t throw the baby out with the Bath water”.

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath.
It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof.
Hence the saying; “It’s raining cats and dogs”.

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That’s how “canopy beds” came into existence.

The floor was earth – usually hardened by traffic over years. Only the wealthy had something other than earth. Hence the saying, “Dirt poor”.
The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entranceway.
Hence the saying a “thresh hold”.

(Getting quite an education, aren’t you?)

1500 pic 1

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold
overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme; “Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old”.

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special.
When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that “a man could bring home the bacon”. They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and “chew the fat”.

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or “the upper crust”.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whisky. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would
wake up. Hence the custom of holding a wake.

England is old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take 1500s pic 3the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the
wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (“the graveyard shift”) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, saved by the bell or was considered a ….”dead ringer”.

And that’s the truth. Now, whomever said History was boring!! Educate someone. Share these facts with a friend.

Florida Atheist Holy Day

Florida Court Sets Atheist Holy Day!
Gotta love this Judge!

You must read this……a proper decision by the courts…for a change.
FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY In Florida , an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians
and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was
unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate
presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,”Case dismissed!”

Judges FoolThe lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, “Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and
all other atheists have no such holidays…”

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, “But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant.”The lawyer said, “Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists.”

The judge said, “The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day.Psalm 14:1 states, ‘The fool says in his heart, there is no God.’ Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a
fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned…” You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

1945 – The Great Writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn Arrested
 E. VirGinia Johnson

Alexander SolzhenitsynIn 1945, The Great Writer Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was arrested by the Soviets for criticizing Joseph Stalin in a letter to a friend. In a special labor camp in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan, he wrote his epic poem Prussian Nights. He had no pen or paper and was not allowed to write. Each day, he would compose a few lines, carve them into a bar of soap, and recite them over and over again until they were committed to memory. Every evening in his daily shower, he would use the bar of soap and wash away his writing. After years of captivity, he had written the entire book, committed it to memory, and watched it be washed away every evening.

When we have something that needs to be expressed, we will find an outlet for its expression. There will never be more perfect time than right now, never a more perfect place than right here, and never anyone more perfect than you to express what needs to be expressed. So many of us have a challenge writing down what€™s bubbling up for us, even when we have pen and paper and permission to write. What if we give ourselves permission to write down—or draw or sing or dance—what IS alive for us in this moment and understand that we can always make changes? What would happen if we were to honor the process rather than demand perfection?

Life’s Potato Sacks

May Have Heard The Story
 E. Virginia Johnson

You May Have Heard The Story, of the teacher who asked each of her students to bring a plastic bag and a sack of potatoes to school; for

potatoesBackground

every person they refused to forgive, they were to choose a potato, write the person’s name on it, and put it in the plastic bag; some of their bags became quite heavy!

They were then told to carry this bag everywhere they went for one week, putting it beside the bed at night and on the car seat when driving; naturally, the condition of the potatoes deteriorated to a nasty, smelly slime. This is great metaphor for the price we pay for holding on to our pain and negativity. Too often, we think of forgiveness as a gift to the other person, and clearly it is for ourselves.

What life does for us it must do through us; life is always at work and is limited only by our beliefs. Ernest Holmes reminds us. Selfish reasons alone, if from no loftier reason, we cannot afford to find fault, to hate, or even to hold in mind anything against any living soul! The god of love cannot hear the prayer of the one who fails to love

Are you tired of carrying around that stink sack of potatoes? Are you ready to create from forgiveness instead of resentment and hurt? Are you ready to value yourself enough to forgive?

What Happens When We Die?

E. VirGinia Johnson

Death by BobWill we Truly live again? Instead of fearing death, consider the eternal cycle of life. Death of our earthly body IS simply part of the Perfection of life, for there IS an Essence within each of us that IS the purest form of love and never dies. Rather, it only changes its form. It IS the soul, and we are part of the continuation of the soul’s journey. When we listen to the whisperings of the soul, we are filled with hope and peace.

The soul guides us in each lifetime, like a Trusted friend—one that knows our questions before we ever ask them, leading us to the answers we seek. Always available to us, it is inner wisdom, sacred peace, the Spiritual Essence. Constantly tugging on the shirtsleeves of consciousness, we need only pay attention.

As we open our hearts and minds to this possibility, we can explore and embrace immortality, the soul’s journey. If we can step back from what’s happening in the physical world long enough to realize that our experiences are just an infinitesimally tiny part of eternal life, it helps to put everything in perspective; what IS beyond this human world IS what’s real. The only constant, on any plane of existence, IS THE LOVE of God that adores us. Everything else changes; it’s supposed to.

Difficult Pleasures of Life

Perl Waterfall ChinaEverybody, in today’s world wants happiness and is striving to work for it. But what happens when this happiness is turned into pain or the small, little pleasure of our life become difficult due to the various complexities we create around us? This is to say, what if, the pleasures in which you seek happiness such as aesthetic beauty, being wealthy, success, health, talent etc., turns into pain or, what if, the distinction between pain and pleasure is wiped out?

This quality where one seeks for happiness and these small pleasures, is an inherent quality which is present in all human beings and this is mainly because human beings wants to create a world around them where they can enjoy everything. Thus, from the time, when we are children, we feel comfortable when our parents cuddle us and care for us. As we grow, we seek pleasure in our loved ones company or when someone compliments us. But, when it comes to survival in this world, then these pleasures have to be left behind and we need to function beyond these small pleasures in order to gain happiness.

Since, most of people have wrong notions about what constitutes pleasure, they tend to think that anything which gives them respite, is pleasure. Also, some live in a mode denial and since, they aren’t able to achieve true happiness and can’t remain content, they tend to seek respite in pleasure only. Therefore, beauty, wealth are certain things which gives everyone respite as then they can impress anyone and these then become pleasure for them. But these tend to give them respite for a very short duration and hence, pleasure become pain, from this particular moment as it starts interfering in our daily lives.

We all our faced by certain situations in our daily lives where we tend articulate and analyze various doubts, apprehensions, and even our small little joys and then we make choices for these small pleasures. The small pleasures become difficult at a time when you want to escape from certain situations and at the same time, a feeling to belong constantly faces you. Pleasures, whether they give pain or not, tends to hamper our growth and even make us stereotype people. For example, beauty gives us short-term respite; so all those things, which are not beautiful according to our own set standards, are rejected, and are judged on the basis of their appearance. Most of the seven deadly sins are committed because we are always seeking these pleasures.

Pleasures can be made difficult, only when you start making clear distinctions between what is characterized as pain and as pleasure. Such distinctions, makes you not only stereotype a certain category, but your mind starts functioning in a certain way, which will never make you and all you be facing is short term respite which you wrongly term as happiness. Although it may boost your confidence, makes you feel good, but trying going beyond the set standards and conventions. Start pondering and introspecting and then you will be a step closer to attain peace and happiness in true sense.

Gratitude

E. VirGinia Johnson “Genii”

angels-dark-thick-forest-31000I believe that one of the great Spiritual Practices IS Gratitude. Prayer and meditation help us to make our Divine connection active and conscious, forgiveness frees us from past hurts and wrongs, and gratitude provides an open place of receptivity for gifts and inspiration. Each practice allows us closeness to God, and each provides a form of communication. For its part, there is great joy in gratitude. In fact, gratitude holds so much meaning for the Spiritual student that it is included as a step in Spiritual Mind Treatment.

We may agree that being thankful is courteous; it shows civility, and lets others know that we care about the things they may do for us, but what is the big deal Spiritually? Surely it is not that we still believe in Big Guy in the Sky who will be upset with us if we do not give proper thanks? If God is the Universal giver and we are the receivers, it must not be this. Instead, I believe that the open place in us that gratitude automatically creates enables us to freely receive all that God gives. As we understand the Divine Flow, we don’t have to worry about stories of worthiness or unworthiness. We simply need to be able to say yes in small things and in large to receive continuous good. We restrict the flow only by our unwillingness or inability to receive.
